One Fleming, who got tired of taping a list of junction numbers to the handlebars.
Belgium and the Netherlands have something quietly brilliant: a numbered network of signed junctions, the knooppunten, covering nearly every lane worth riding. Follow the numbers and you cannot get lost. The hard part was never the riding. It was working out which numbers, in which order, before you set off.
So this plans them for you. You say what you feel like riding, in ordinary words, and you get the numbers back. Forty flat kilometres from Bruges with a coffee halfway. An hour on the bike, quiet roads. It is the same sentence you would say to a friend.
There is no company behind it. It is a personal project, built and paid for by one person, a Fleming who these days lives on the American west coast, so a reply from me sometimes lands at an odd hour. It also means you will not find an address or a VAT number here. It also means nobody is buying my attention: there are no ads, nothing is sold on, and there is no tracker following you around the web. The app calls out each junction as you reach it and is free.
It is in open beta, which is an honest way of saying parts of it are still wrong. When something is broken I would rather hear it than not. There is a Feedback button on every screen and it comes straight to me.
